Cannot connect to MS or Windows sites, cant find server?

The redir serv crashes when I try to load, download, or reach any MS or Windows update sites. Cant find server, is always the error message. I have tried everything including clearing cach, flushing ipconfig, adding the sites into mozilla as accepted, and still cannot download updates. Very frustrating. Mozilla needs to be compatible with MS & Windows sites for PC users who want to keep the opsys updated, and want to run IE too.
