I keep importing my IE favorites to Firefox, then Firefox will say everything's been imported, but nothing ever shows up in my Bookmarks tab.

I just downloaded Firefox last week. I want to import my IE Favorites to Firefox, so I go to File, then Import, and follow the instructions to import them. I've done this a few times, because each time the message will say that everything has imported correctly, but when I go to my Bookmarks tab, none of my favorites have bookmarked.

It usually works better if you export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.

  • Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
  • Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File
