I just updated to V57 on a PC and want to both add and delete "Top Sites" - how do I do this?
I don't like the default list of Top Sites which was created when I updated, but haven't been able to find a solution searching help.

Try this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-tools/
Thank you! Where will I find (or how to I get) this add-on on the home page, and how do I use it to add or remove Top Sites?
It is all very well pointing to an add-on but do you really mean that, with all the hoo ha about how wonderful the new version is, Mozilla didn't put in a simple direct delete option ...really ???????? . In the end add-ons cause problems because they are, in effect, solutions that work - for now ! - but need recalibrating when other changes come in. So, my question still stands. Where is the direct edit/delete for getting rid of the garbage in 'top sites' ?

If you hover a tile then you will see a 3-dot (...) menu button. You can click this button and select Dismiss to remove this item. You can't drag a link to a tile, but there is an Add menu item.
Via the cogwheel button in the top right corner you can select what to display.
Many thanks cor-el. I never even thought of hovering. Would that all problems were so quickly solvable!

You're welcome
With the new Activity Stream design enabled there is the "Add" menu item in the Edit drop-down list. This replaces the old way to drag an item to a tile. Edit will appear when you hover a tile.
