New email comes in and some of it disappears when I log out and log in again. This has been going on for about two months ago and appears to be a major bug.
I'm losing new emails from my inbox. Emails come in and many just disappear. No messaging rules are in effect to divert new emails and they don't show up in any other folders. They're just gone. Any idea what is going on? Message copies also go to gmail and are not lost there.

First thing I need to know:
You say copies of the e-mails are going to Gmail. Is the e-mail address you are using in Thunderbird a Gmail address?
