Always shows "Failed to check for updates" On version 125.0.3 and still says needs to be updated. Then just run the install again and then it stops for a bit still on same version and then shows up needing update...been doing the same thing for a while now.

Troubleshoot Firefox auto-update issues caused by NordVPN's Web Protection https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-auto-update-issues

NordVPN was causing this issue for users with web protection feature enabled. This is or was because NordVPN had for some reason put *.mozilla.org urls in a blocklist.

I say it was causing as some NordVPN users have reported (recently) having web protection feature enabled it not longer caused update issues for Firefox and the extensions as per bugzilla bug#1892521
