Attempting to install tbird for the first time on windows 7. After download and extraction a logon window appears with two choices, current user or administrator. If I choose admin and no password I cannot move forward as tbird does not allow empty password, if I choose current user as listed, click enter and the logon window closes and nothing ever happens again. At that point I have not installed, never see the install wizard window, and no action to proceed. This is down loading version 45.2.0

Have you tried as "Current user" that is after all what you are.

For more information on UAC, I suggest you contact Microsoft or Google the term.

Matt, as the user administrator mozilla tells me I may not have the necessary permissions (which I believe I do) to run all the features of the program. I may run this program as a different user or continue as the current user. If I select Current User, click OK, the dialogue window closes and installation is aborted. If I click administrator (or any other name for other user) and click OK I get an error message regarding empty password. I do not use a password to enter windows.

Thank you for your reply. I entered and exited the security section of control panel checking my permissions -- did not change any settings, just checked -- but it must have triggered something because after simply checking I was then allowed to install. Can't say I fixed it but apparently I did sidestep the issue that mozilla threw at me. Thanks
