Firefox 42 - Unrequested connection
As in every new version, I made a fresh installation and disabled everything that is stated on the article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-stop-firefox-making-automatic-connections
Additionally, I have also set media.gmp-manager.url to empty as it is suggested here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1088951 and is missing from the previous article.
But when I run Fx42, after being open for about a minute, it tries to connect to ec2-XX-XXX-XXX-XXX.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com (IPs 54.187.XXX.XXX, 54.148.XXX.XXX, 52.89.XXX.XXX etc.) and always to Remote port 443
Which is this new unrequested connection and how can I disable it?

That seems to have been a Firefox for Android question? In order to manage connections being made without your knowledge or stop Firefox from making connections:
No, it is a Firefox for Windows question (version 42.0).
As I wrote in my initial post, I disabled everything that is stated in the article "How to stop Firefox from making automatic connections", but there is still an unrequested attempt (not immediately but after being open for about a minute). This is new to ver. 42 since there was no such connection in ver. 41
