Firefox will not keep my bookmarks.. the XML file is simply not a stable enough way of keeping bookmarks..

Windows 7 64 bit Operating system...

Firefox refuses to keep my bookmarks. I was a huge supporter of Firefox.. but the inability of Firefox to FIX the bookmark issue is really getting OLD... With every Firefox Update I have my fingers crossed this issue s fixed.. and it disappoints every single time... I never had this problem with INTERNET EXPLORER... so maybe I'll switch back to that browser if... when I bookmark a site it is available to me the next time I start my browser..

Geeeze get on the ball and fix this issue already... it's been YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know where you are getting an XML file for bookmarks, Firefox stores bookmarks in the places.sqlite file in your Profile folder. Bookmark backups are in the JSON format, and you can export bookmarks in the HTML format.

I've never had any problems with missing bookmarks, and as the-edmeister says, they're kept in the places.sqlite. Never are they kept in an xml folder. What it looks like to me is that someone has started to make an xml folder (by the way that's the format used by Microsoft Widows Excel) to keep a track of all the bookmarks on your machine.
