more options

Hi, from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ I checked the plugins and updated one required Adobe Flash Player RealNetworks(tm) RealDownloader PepperFlashVideoShim Plug-In v. 1.3.2.28 outdated.

After installation when I recheck (by restarting Firefox) it still shows outdated I wonder why? I have taken screen shot along with download library status. Please refer screen shot.

Any advice/suggestion in this regard will be much appreciated.

Thank you

Let's try to do a re-install.

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac

Then reinstall the latest version.

Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

Flash Player Version: 23.0.0. 207 Flash Player (Linux) Version 11.2. 202.644

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Direct link scans current system and browser Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Hi, thank you for quick reply with links. Actually I always keep computer updated, therefore, my adobe flash was also updated but when I checked Firefox Plugins it showed I need update which I did and already it is installed. Refer screen shot with adobe website and the Flash Player setting Manager (in Japanese). My OS is in Japanese.

The problem could be you have more than one player, and the other player is outdated.

Your Flash Player plugin from Adobe is up to date. It is the other Plugin as you can perhaps just set it to deactivate as it is not Flash Player.

Hi, thank you for reply. You are correct Flash player Plugin is up to date. As this problem has been discussed in the support, it seems when I click to update plugin https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ the link redirect to Flash Player download. Also please refer screen shot.

As I very rarely use Realplayer therefore, I do not think it is a big problem. I just wanted to know what could be the cause of conflict of interest among Plugins.

Thank you

You can update RealPlayer, or remove it from your system.

I don't think there will be a conflict with the two RealPlayer plugins because they do not share any "MIME Type" in common with the Flash plugin. A page nearly always will specify that Flash has a MIME Type (content type) of "application/x-shockwave-flash" which should be unique to Adobe's plugin.

(It should, but actually the VLC plugin also advertises itself as able to handle this type of content. Which is confusing...)
