I have bought a new laptop, and cannot connect my email acct. The password does not work. I need to change the password and everything I read says to go to tools and find change password, I cannot find tools on Thunderbird task bar.

As with many Windows applications that hide the menu bar, you usually can activate it by tapping the Alt key or pressing the F10 function key. Do either of those work for you?
