Why do I get duplicated emails 2 weeks after I already got them from my Hotmail account?

Most days when I open Thunderbird I get new emails. I also get exact copies of emails I had exactly 2 weeks ago showing up again as unread emails right alongside the copies I read 2 weeks ago.

I cant figure out whether it is something I have wrong in my settings either with Thunderbird or my Hotmail settings. For those that might be able to help I am running Windows 7 64bit.
