Hello,
I no longer see how to create a new Template in the email. What happened? And in order to see my prior template, I have to Open in a New Tab.
I am no longer getting reminders of all the events I have set up in the calendar events.
Why has my email been blocked as a SCAM? mberger@wt.net? How can this be stopped and restored so I can send emails again?
When deleting an email in my Inbox, Thunderbird sometimes deletes adjacent other emails (the one above or below). Please fix this!!
A "Mailspring" folder with a "Snoozed" sub-folder has appeared in Thunderbird. I have deleted it but it returns within a couple of minutes. Can you help?

I'm fairly tech savvie, but not in a programming way. It's been a very long time since the old hacking hat hung on my wall. So, is there a simple way by which I may establish a new email address through Thunderbird, make it unique to Thunderbird–in no way associated with any social media, Google, gmail, or any other common sack of crap?
I have a website hosted by SquareSpace. I would like to take my new Thunderbird email address and make it my only contact account for the website.
And if this request is at all possible, would there be a tutorial, online video/pdf, or whathaveyou, that would enable my getting this new Thundermail email going?
I really hope this can be done simply and readily. I understand that my current email which is connected with my Apple account, the behated gmail address, is where I will be contacted with answers. I can't wait to start moving all my user accounts over to Thunderbird!
Thanks so much for your help,
Wren

TB is now asking me to compact my folders several times a day (probably due the large number of messages I deleted). When I select Compact, I keep getting the message in the title. Since I have 118GB available on my disk, I checked my profile and found that the Mail folder and all the folders below it are marked "read only". However, when I unselect the Read Only button and select Apply and then select the "this folder and all folders below it goes through the process but when I go back into Properties, it is still marked Read Only. I do have an inordinate amount of messages in my account folders that I know I must delete. I am unclear as to what else I can do.

I use Thunderbird 140.0esr (64 bit) under Windows 11. In recent days I can usually not move or copy an email message between folders, though occasionally a move succeeds for no obvious reason. For instance, I right-click an email in my Inbox and ask to move it to folder abc. It disappears from Inbox but does not show up in abc. If I look for it in All Mail it's there, but I cannot move or copy it to abc from there either. Usually I get no error message, but today I got one saying I should check my write privileges and disc space. I searched on a browser for write privileges and found information about Windows but nothing about Thunderbird. I have adequate disc space. This problem only appeared on about 29 July 2025; before then, moving and copying worked reliably both by right-clicking and by drag-and-drop.

Owing to a price rise in MS Office, I had been looking to move to free software. Unfortunately for email this isn't working. I have downloaded Thunderbird and have tried to transfer my Outlook data there. I started two weeks ago and on average believe the process has been running a few hours a day, for much of the time when I look occupying 0% of CPU capacity, and most of the time not rising above 1%. The import has been stuck at 33% for that time, which I assume means that it imported Accounts and Settings or Address Books quickly and is taking a very long time to import Mail Messages. (It imported the couple of month's worth on webmail quite quickly.) Likely this is owing to the size of the Outlook file, 5 GB. Does this essentially make the transfer impossible? For how large a file could Thunderbird do a successful import?

I have many subfolders set up under "Local Folders". I need to set up a new subfolder. The option for me to click on "File", "New Subfolder" at the top of the screen is now missing. How can I get that back, so that I can again create new subfolders?
Thank yuoou.

Emails appear correctly as delivered in Inbox pane, and can be opened, however when deleted the email disappears from the right side viewing pane but not from the Inbox pane. This leads to the next email being displayed in the right pane but the deleted email header remains higlighted in the left Inbox pane as if it was that email being displayed. This behaviour persists even in Troubleshooter mode. Troubleshooter mode did not start smoothly, telling me that Thunderbird was still running and required closing. I have reinstalled Thunderbird and the above behavour persists. The bahviour persists on my laptop only, not on a desktop with the same profile. The behaviour is quite disorientating, as emails that have been deleted continue to show up inthe Inbox pane unconnected to the email being displayed. One or two incorrect deletions have therefore occured. Picture below attached - the INOV8 email has been deleted. The next email appears in the right pane but the INOV8 email remains in the left inbox pane. When this eventually updates the inbox pane and display pane can be several email out of synch. Any suggestions?

I recently installed Thunderbird on a tablet running W11. I have 5 email accounts with a common domain name. I want to install two of them on the tablet. The first one went smooth. I can't get to a window to install the second one. I get a window which asks for my name and email account but no place to put password. If I push "Next" button, I get a spinning wheel which goes on forever and does nothing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,
I am trying to setup my email on Thunderbird android but auto configuration is not working it is however working fine on desktop. It is my own domain email and I have set up the DNS settings correctly following the below guides.

I believe I have noticed a change in the operation of Calendar Event notifications, following recent updates to Thunderbird, in the past week or more. I am currently on release 137.0.2 (64-bit) running on a Linux Desktop. This computer gets shut down every night, and rebooted the following morning. When a calendar reminder has been snoozed, and the snooze time expires when the computer is not running, and Thunderbird is not running, those calendar reminders used to show up the next time Thunderbird was started after the computer was rebooted, even if the calendar event time had already passed. In the last week or so, following recent updates, I believe this is no longer happening.
Also, I believe that calendar events that have reminders set, that have not been snoozed, whose reminder time happens when the computer is shut down, are also not being shown reminders the next time the computer is started, if the reminder time happened when Thunderbird was not running. This is also a change from the way it used to work. For example, if an event is marked as starting at 10:00 AM, with a reminder set for 2 hours before (which would be 8 AM), and the computer is booted and Thunderbird is started at 8:30 AM, that reminder no longer happens. That is a change from the way it used to work. A few weeks ago, in that scenario, the reminder would have been shown the next time Thunderbird started up.
