I'm trying to create an event that start from time in PST, and end in China Standard Time. However, the date time selector doesn't seems to be aware with the timezone I selected and still prompt that I selecting wrong time.

I'm on the latest stable Thunderbird release, 138

Hello everybody I'm using Thunderbird version 115.10.1 (64-Bit) German. This question appeared some years ago. Now I'm still confronted with the same question. When I reply to messages or I'm up to forward a message, my signature is not inserted. I used TB for a very long time and I used this feature in the past extensively. I think, this must be an issue to TB .

Pressing Get Mail icon displays some 8 messages in bottom ((.)) line of Thunderbird including <provider URL>:Connected to <account email address> and finally Checking mail server capabilities. Up to 4/1/2025 that got all the new emails of the account but since then no emails get into Thunderbird in any of the account's folders.

I've received a couple of emails where in the email list they have text/plain et al where the sender's email address would normally be, and in the email window it says text/plain, charset=UTF-8. Can Thunderbird not handle UTF-8 in emails, or is it just in that part of the email?

I have replaced Windows 10 on my laptop with Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon. I installed Thunderbird and, with a little diificulty with passwords, have my gmail accounts working. However I have a freenetname email address which appears to be installed. However when I seek to use it I am asked for a password. I enter the password that I use on my desktop for the same account but it is not recognised. I looked at the saved passwords (on my laptop) in Settings. None are displayed for the freenetname account and I can't see how to install passwords here to, perhaps, solve the problem. Some help would be very welcome. Thank you

I previously wrote to the forum regrading an email "Junk" issue, and the question or problem was not answered. After much trial and tribulation, I have my email back.....however it does not work properly as it did before. And now, everything that comes through is already marked as "Junk." And I have to click the yellow ribbon to mark it as not junk. I'm not sure what I might've done, nevertheless, all I have is email automatically marked as junk. How do I fix this? I'd love to have my email back to functioning as it did in the beginning, but it seems the more I mess with it, the worse it gets. Help please anyone!

Someone sends me a calendar appointment for 11th of May at 16:30-18:30 and another at 18:30:20:30. I accept these appointments. In my calendar, they correctly display at these times.

When I close and re-open Thunderbird, the first appointment is now scheduled for 12th of May, but the second is fine. When I close and re-open Thunderbird again, the second appointment is now scheduled for 12th of May as well.

The times are completely different too.

I'm using Thunderbird 138 from the Arch Linux repositories but I've also tried the Flatpak package to no avail. I've tried setting my Timezone manually and using my System timezone to no avail.

GNOME Calendar, which is also synced to my Caldav server, displays the appointments at the correct day and time. The web interface for my mail server also displays correctly.

It's only Thunderbird that screws it up time and time again.

This has been going on for years and it is driving me insane. I can't use my calendar with Thunderbird because I keep thinking my appointments are at the wrong time!

Send help.

I want to save a PDF from Thunderbird under a slightly different name from what is already existing within the directory. This would save me from repeatedly typing filenames.

For example my directory already contains "version1.pdf". I want to save an attached file as "version2.pdf". To do this I first search for "version" and highlight the file. Then I want to just change the 1 to a 2.

But the moment I highlight "version1.pdf" in the file list, the REPLACE button is greyed out. Is this intended behaviour?

Is there a way to disable Thunderbird’s ability to open email attachments (image attachments currently)? We’re no stranger to message spam, or how message remote content can be abused, but images can still display fraudulent content. I’m hoping the images don’t contain any other surprises. Lost email due to change of provider

Some months ago, my email account with Cox.net (pop.east.cox.net) was transferred to Yahoo (imap.mail.yahoo.com). I was able to keep my existing email address ([email]@cox.net) but in the process, all my pop email at Cox disappeared from Thunderbird. I haven't had time to address this till now.

I have located all the "lost" email under the Thunderbird folder in the C:/Users subfolder. All the mail can be found under C:\Users\Dinger PC\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\ditb93lv.default\Mail. All the mail is in a subfolder called pop.east.cox.net and is either individual files (.msf) or located in separate folders with .sbd extension.

I tried moving the .sbd folders over to the currently active imap.mail.yahoo.com but after restarting Thunderbird several times, they still don't show up. Maybe because they are not on the yahoo server but just on my computer.

There has to be a way to recover these emails and get them into Thunderbird. Can you help?

I'm unable to send any email with Thunderbird on my new Windows 11 laptop. I've used Thunderbird for years and years on the old Windows 10 one, but it won't send anything with the new one. The version info it gives is "128.5.1esr (64-bit)". Whenever I try to send an email message, it waits a long long time and then gives a popup saying "Login to server smtp.mail.yahoo.com with username [email removed]@verizon.net failed." It gives me an option to enter a new password, and if I click there it doesn't let me enter the password again, just re-tries, again waits a long long time, then gives the same error popup. When I cancel, it gives a new popup saying to check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in Account Settings. Authentication method looks fine, but the password (Settings->Saved Passwords) is empty (?? But I entered the password when I started Thunderbird and asked it to save it).

I'm having trouble with Thunderbird on my new Windows 11 laptop. I've used Thunderbird for years and years on the old Windows 10 one, but can't get it to work right on the new one. The version info it gives is "128.4.4esr (64-bit)"

Specifically two problems. (1) Every time it starts it asks for my yahoo server's password. Even though I check the box asking it to remember it, it doesn't. Under Settings->Privacy&Security (under Passwords)->Saved Passwords, the list is empty. (2) Second problem (may be same as first, but in a different form) Whenever I try to send an email message, it fails. It waits a long long time and then gives a popup saying "Login to server smtp.mail.yahoo.com with username [email removed]@verizon.net failed." This morning, my Thunderbird email stopped working although it was working fine a few hours earlier. The following is the error message: "Sending of password for user lepitzki@telusplanet.net did not succeed. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded: [AUTH] Username and password not accepted." After trying to find a solution at telus.com, my internet provider, I finally spoke to a real person (after nearly an hour on hold) who informed me that the recent google gmail update now prohibits third party email services, such as Outlook or Thunderbird, from connecting to Telus gmail email. And, that there is no work around or solution and that a supervisor could not offer anything further. I have been using Thunderbird for telus email for decades, I weathered the storm when Telus email moved to using the gmail platform, and I have many, many folders and subfolders. The Thunderbird third party platform allows permanent offline archiving of emails, which I require for my work. Is Thunderbird aware of this major issue caused by an update via Google?
