My Thunderbird email account developed a problem, emails would download but contained no content. The same emails on on my provider's web site (Spectrum.com) did contain content. I want to fix this problem.

I can send emails but I cannot receive them. I can receive them at Spectrum.net. The problem started the evening of the 26th. Everything was fine during the day. But in the evening I could no longer get email. I am not aware of making any changes to either Thunderbird or to Spectrum. I did call Spectrum but they could not find any problem on their end. I recently changed the password in Spectrum but Thunderbird has the updated password. All of the settings in Thunderbird look right. Any ideas on what I should do?

I have Thunderbird 154.0 (64-bit) on Windows 11. When I opened Thunderbird this morning, it originally gave a message that the connection to the email server had failed. Before I had time to look into this, it downloaded a number of emails without headings and sometimes without text. However, Thunderbird on my Android phone, I discovered subsequently, had downloaded all the messages correctly. The problem seems to have now corrected itself for subsequent emails, but is there some way I can force the download of these previous incomplete emails? Also, this is a very recent update to Thunderbird - I think it was installed in the last few days. Is it a problem with the update and is it likely to occur again?

Thunderbird was not working from 8/20 to 8/25. Started working again 8/25. Yesterday, 8/28, once again not loading emails from Spectrum. No error msgs coming up. Just nothing. Anyone else having this?

When I try to print an attachment using the mozilla app on my desk top computer. It only prints a blank page. I open the same attachment in gmail, it prints fine. Please help I like the app. Thank you Anthony

Thunderbird is stuck loading the same corrupted profile and always shows the welcome screen, even when I create new profiles.

I used the Profile Manager via thunderbird.exe -p and created new profiles (“Clean” and “Clean2”). Both profile folders exist in %APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Profiles. However, Thunderbird still launches the same original profile every time.

Even when I select “Clean2” in the Profile Manager (with “Use the selected profile without asking” unchecked), Thunderbird ignores the selection and loads the old profile. Safe Mode (thunderbird.exe -safe-mode) also does not disable the welcome module.

This appears to be a profiles.ini corruption or a profile lock issue, because Thunderbird is not switching profiles even though the Profile Manager shows the correct selection.

Could you advise how to repair or reset the profile configuration so Thunderbird will actually load a new profile?

I installed Thunderbird on my new laptop, then imported the profile from my old laptop

The main screen has, under "Inbox", folders for Drafts, Sent, Trash, Archive and Spam, which are being used by the program

Folders for Drafts, Sent and Trash also appear under "Local Folders" (along with Outbox) and these aren't being used by the program.

How do I get rid of these duplicate folders? "Spam" had a delete option, so that was easy, but the others don't.

I tried the two suggestions for a previous "Duplicates" question but they didn't resolve things.

I use IMAP to grab my mail, if that's important.

In the last couple of days, my normal method of deleting messages from my Inbox, right-clicking on the message and selecting the trash can icon, has stopped working: the message disappears for a moment, then reappears. I can delete it by dragging it to the Trash folder in the folders pane on the left.

I've followed the instructions given in several postings here, including deleting the Trash and trash.msf files, doing that and then creating an empty txt file called Trash (no .txt), and using Repair Folder.

It just now occurred to me to disconnect from the Internet and try to delete a message. It worked fine?!

I finally got Thunderbird to not go to Rogers every time I get email. But now I cannot send any email from any address.When I try to send I get an error message. I cannot add an SMPT server as it will not take it

I am totally blind and have the most current version of JAWS, Windows 11 Pro, and Thunderbird installed on my HP desktop. Somehow, I'm no longer able to navigate between accounts on this computer. (I'm currently using another computer to send this message). On my other system, JAWS reads/speaks everything, whether I'm in Word, Edge, or Chrome. In Thunderbird, I get a "forms open" sound, and the speech says, "about". When I hit the Escape key, I'm out of "forms mode," and the screen seems to be blank. I can't seem to tab anywhere or get into any of the accounts to read my email. How do I fix this? I don't want to hve to uninstall Thumderbird and risk losing all my emails. After Windows 11 crash and re-install and Thunderbird re-install, where can I find my old address file and old email file location in saved backed up data, and filename format to import in new Thunderbird installation? I have done this once a long time ago and forgot.

I have installed Thunderbird 154 in Linux Xubuntu 26.04 and I have Thunderbird working fine except for the scrollbar arrow buttons. I was able to set the scrollbars to always show but arrows do not show. What do I need to set to bring those arrow buttons back?

Thunderbird not connecting to server. It says timds out and an error occurred connecting to mobile.charter.net. I can neither send or receive emails. This started 8/20/2026

I have successfully setup and installed Tbird on my new Windows 11 computer. Now all I need is to recover my contacts from the old computer's Acronis 2020 backup. How to do that and/or what specifgic file to search for and recover. I have attached a jpg of the Acronis screen.

I had to recently change my password on my shaw email account. Now thunderbird won't download my emails. I changed the password in the account settings to match the shaw email account password but I keep getting an error message: "Host contacted, sending login information..." and then after a long delay the error message reads "Login to server pop.shaw.ca with username ... failed". Any idea what I'm doing wrong by simply changing the password? I think this happened before and some wonderful human on this forum told me I had to put something before the password or click/unclick a particular box, but I can't find that old answer to my previous question. Thanks in advance for any help someone can offer!

What are the memory limits for Thunderbird. Currently, I get this message when I try to save and email "Unable to save your message to local folders. Possibly out of local file storage space." Please see attached screenshot.

I am not out of storage space.
