Hi , I am using the MacBook Pro M5 which is running with macOS Tahoe 26.5 . I have installed Thunderbird mail with version 150.0.2 . After the initial installation with only one account with few mails in the inbox I found the App opening time is abnormally high & is more than 1 minutes . I have removed the mail App few times & re installed it ( even I have re download the app from net again) , but the problem remain same .

I have removed the old folder & files from - ~/Library/Thunderbird/ , ~/Library/Application Support/Thunderbird/ , ~/Library/Caches/Thunderbird/ , org.mozilla.thunderbird from ~/Library/Preferences/. before the re installation & re started the laptop , but no improvement in results .

Also in mail setting references → Unchecked the option - Enable Global Search and Indexer Disable all Extensions and Themes under Tools → Add‑ons & Themes (No Extensions is installed) .

Just to inform that the apple mail is working fine in this laptop .

After all the above trails the results are same , the app once quit & re start - it takes around 1.5 minutes to open after which the app works normally with out any problem . Please suggest if any solution is available for this problem . Best Regards Gautam Banerjee

I just download the latest version of Thunderbird, and try to add my pop mail account. But after i enter the info of outgoing server settings, the Continue button is gray and can't be clicked. once I try the test, it says that Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account. Can't find a server. Also i find that there is no place enter the password of my mail account.

Пытаюсь подключить Яндекс.Почту к Thunderbird, чтобы скачать письма с Яндекса на компьютер.

Проблема такая: при добавлении аккаунта Яндекс.Почты в Thunderbird меня почему-то перебрасывает на авторизацию Google. Возможно, это связано с тем, что ранее почта была мигрирована на Google-аккаунт с таким же адресом и доменом, либо ящик Яндекса сейчас неактивен (он не оплачен, там просто старые письма лежат) — точно не понимаю.

Подскажите, пожалуйста:

Почему при подключении Яндекс.Почты Thunderbird может открывать Google-авторизацию? Можно ли принудительно подключить Яндекс.Почту вручную? Если ящик Яндекса был ранее связан/мигрирован с Google, есть ли способ всё равно скачать письма именно с Яндекса?

Моя цель — получить локальный архив писем с Яндекс.Почты на компьютере. Буду благодарна за пошаговую инструкцию, что проверить и как правильно настроить подключение.

I've successfully connected to a hosted Exchange server through EWS and NTLM authentication (kudos BTW). But there is a problem - often during operations against EWS I'm presented with "Login to account XXX failed" "Login to server YYY with account XXX failed". I can ignore it (cancel) and it will work for seconds or minutes but eventually reappear. Sometimes it's very frequent, sometimes is here and there. TL;DR; connection works, I can read directories and e-mails.

From looking at development tools I see these scenarios: 1. POST requests return 200 always (no messsage of course) 2. Eventually a POST would return 401. Then Thunderbird issues a GET, it returns 401 as well but response includes header WWW-Authenticate: NTLM XXXXXX. Then another GET is issued containing header "Authorization" with the value from previous response. This time it gets 200 and continues without POST requests without a dialog. 3. Sometimes there are more POST requests with 401 (I assume in parallel) before a GET is issued and then I see a dialog. Sometimes it recovers (regardless of whether I cancel or retry), sometimes gets stuck with 401 with dialog reappearing each time it tries something. This case it's similar in sense that thunderbird issues GET with 401 and WWW-Authenticate header, issues another GET with Authenticate header but still gets 401.

If I had to guess I'd say the problem happens when POST requests are issued in parallel, not sequentially. OTOH it might be a problem at the server, but it isn't very likely.

I'm on a new Windows 11 desktop with two monitors. Everything's been working just fine up until around 26th April (two weeks ago) when the native Thunderbird new mail notifications started appearing in my second monitor, rather than my main display. I had made no changes at all myself.

I've been through all the fixes suggested via Google (toggling the displays; checking Windows notification settings), but none of those fixes have made any difference. I switched to using Windows system notifications for a while, but I really don't like them.

Might this be something in a Thunderbird update itself? It just doesn't seem to be detecting the primary monitor at all. All my other app notifications continue to show on the primary display.

Has anyone else encountered this or have any other solutions I could try?

All mails in Inbox are gone - and I at once checked my Mail Server by One.com - but everything was gone there too. Are there any way to get them back??

I still get the "Unable to connect' message as soon as I open up the Thunderbird mail app. I have tried to delete and reinstall my outlook email accounts, but no luck. It seems the problem is with Thunderbird inability to make the connection to any of my email accounts? On other platforms they work fine??? I don't know if Thunderbird updates are the problem. I even tried to delete and re-install Thunderbird, but nothing changed. I am about to abandon Thunderbird completely, unless someone knows how to get me connected to my outlook email! Thanks

I had TB on my desktop for years and finally got it also synced to my phone. Then with a failure with Windows 11 had to wipe clean the desktop and start over. Cannot reinstall TB. I obviously have the correct e-mail and password as I was able to log into Mozilla and submit this question. I believe it is a problem with my user name and what is on my phone setup does not work with my desktop reinstallation.

I have 2 accounts one is thru Outlook.com and one is from my cable provider. When a message comes in from my cable provider if the subject meets one of the filter entries it should mov it to the folder in Outlook via the account I have setup in thunderbird. Sometimes this takes place and it worked like it was supposed to and others it doesn't I find all of the message that should have been forwarded still in the inox of the other account. When I look at the filter log it shows that the move was completed. Its kind of funny because the folder in theoutlook account turns blue like it is holding a new message but when you click on it the message is not there.

How can I find out from which of my two email providers that I use is feeding my messages to TB as the client? Presumably, incoming and outgoing servers would have to be added at set-up? Is this true for Gmail as well?

Hi - I can't seem to delete from my Yahoo Mail via Thunderbird.

With Yahoo's new mailbox limits I wanted to clean up my Yahoo mail box and Yahoo obviously does not provide any decent tools to support search and delete.

I downloaded Thunderbird and despite several deletion attempts my Yahoo mailbox still shows 160,000 emails whilst my Thunderbird client only 9,000 - so when I delete it is not syncing.

Most emails are deleted from Thunderbird however some are now reappearing (in Thunderbird). No deletions from Thunderbird are reachign my Yahoo mail inbox, however I can send emails from Thunderbird and see the sent and received email in Yahoo and I can add folders in Thunderbird and see those folders in Yahoo.

I tried several things

- immeadiate delete in Thunderbird - moving the emails to a folder in Thunderbird and then deleting from that and then deleting the the folder - I check this article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-yahoo and everything appears correct

I've had to pay for extra storage to get the code to make this post.

Earlier this week I replaced my router and modem with Spectrum's latest equipment offering higher speeds and a back up battery. Sometimes the outgoing emails come back unsent with the same message as others I see have noted. Error occurred while sending and I am using the same outgoing - mail.twc.com, for the outgoing server. I found that if I try to resend 2 or 3 more times the email does finally get sent. And yes my incoming emails come through without an issue. Also, for 2-3 days after making the equipment switch, when Thunderbird would check for emails and there were none to download, I would receive a message to check settings and that it was unable to connect. However by day 3 and 4 after the new installation I no longer receive that extra pop-up message that only started occurring after the equipment change. Any thoughts? Or is it Spectrum? Terri

Hi,

I have been using Thunderbird as my preferred email client since around 2004 on Linux, macOS and Windows.

I am current running Thunderbird 150.0.2 64-bit on macOS Tahoe 26.5 ( Intel ).

When I attempt to create a new 'Folder' or 'Sub Folder' on either an iMAP account or, more importantly, my 'Local Folder' the displayed dialogue box is sized incorrectly and I am unable to complete the action.

Specifically I can type into the 'Name' text box and see the 'Create as a subfolder of" drop down dialogue but the two buttons below are barely visible and I cannot select either with my mouse. Nor can I resize the dialogue box itself [ make larger ] to enable to be select either button.

I can use the <TAB> key to cycle thorough the various items and the <RETURN> key to select an option.

I have attached a sample image of the issue.
