My Firefox desktop app recently updated. After it updated, I now cannot access anything by right clicking. When I right click, a giant window of options shows up (see image). It doesn't change no matter what I click on. When I try to select something in the giant window of options, nothing happens. I'm having a very hard time with it, particularly because I can't open links into new tabs now.

Firefox has been running incredibly slow. I currently only have this window open, but if I open my task manger it shows 10 Firefox windows running. If I right click and end task, it will end the task, but shortly there after a new one will pop up. 1 of the is running in efficiency mode. I assume this is what is slowing down performance, but I do not know how to fix.

I use Firefox with DuckDuckGo on Ubuntu 24.04, Gnome desktop. My Firefox browser window regularly freezes but can be unfrozen by simply repositioning the window. This is really annoying.

I also use Chromium on the same system and there are no issues.

Any ideas?

im using firefox on ubuntu, version 139.0.4. when i browse the internet using firefox, every some time the toolbar and the search bar "freeze" - i am unable to click anything, from the url, to any of the buttons. it takes up to like 1/2 minutes for the search bar and the toolbar to work again. i never had this issue before, neither on ubuntu (and other linux distributions), nor on windows...

I have a new desktop i7 computer with 16 GB of RAM. Why are my Firefox browser screens locking up? I'm running Windows 11 Pro. I don't have this problem with Chrome.

Several weeks ago Firefox worked normally for me. I left for most of the day and when I got home Firefox no longer worked at all. Everything on my home page was gone and when I typed in websites - such as my e-mail program or Facebook, nothing ever came up. I'm not super browser savvy, but I opened the menu and under help was "trouble shooting mode". I didn't know what that was but figured nothing much more could go wrong with Firefox, so I chose that. I had to rebuild the websites I had in a row on the middle of the page. I didn't lose bookmarks, but everything else was different. So I left it that way.

Earlier today, Firefox wanted me to do another update. I thought maybe by agreeing to that, things might return to normal. Noooooooo. It's no better whatever. Now I don't know how to get out of troubleshooting mode to know if anything will work normally again.

I am seriously considering switching browsers, but I have a LOT of stuff bookmarked and that would be very intensive to build all those book marks in another browser.

I updated firefox just yesterday or earlier today idk and the right click menu is so long with multiples of the same and they DO NoThInG! Linux Mint 22 Cin. 6.8.0-55 Generic Kernel

Do I need Firefox 78.0.2 (x64) and Firefox ESR (x64)? Also I noticed I have noticed a very slow startup. I have an old Dell Vostro 460 PC. I also did a Task Manager and noticed five Firefox process. Can I shut some of these down?

This happens a lot all of a sudden. It used to say something like this "script is slowing down the page" or "page is slowing down browser" but it's only Outlook/Hotmail.

It's super annoying. Any fixes?

Firefox just keeps getting slower and less responsive. I've cleared the history etc and run my Avast cleanup premium which helped a little, but the other browsers just put it to shame. I hate to switch because I love the user interface, but............ its just frustrating. Windows 11 latest updates.

Hi, when I use YouTube.com and i find this on "https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=blue+connection+touch+the+sky" I get this popup message ""This page is slowing down Firefox",etc.etc. What happened to the browser? Thanks!

There is a bug which was reported 3 month ago https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1959157. It appeared out of nowhere and I don't even know if it was fixed since then. But it is bugging me a lot, no pun intended. Any help would be appreciated.
