Since updating Firefox to 15.0.1 (Kubuntu) I am unable to log into Amazon.co.uk as it think cookies are disables, well I have cleared the history, cookies and cache and Amazon is quite happy to deposit cookies which show up in Firefox, but is obviously denying it.

I do not have this problem when using Chromium and I haven't tried anything else yet.

On a related issue Google thought my browser was out of date and wouldn't let me log in until I cleared the cache, and now I have it seems quite happy.

Did you check the cookie exception to make sure that you aren't blocking cookies (the site may be using more domains)?

  • Edit > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
