tabs missing with new update

more options

My firefox installed a new update, 89, and now my tabs are missing, except that the active tab is floating down at the center bottom of the screen. i can still navigate with keyboard shortcuts, but i don't know how many i have open, what they are, and personally DO NOT like navigating with shortcuts if i don't have to.

why is it necessary to keep messing with tabs? weren't they just fine below the address bar back in the day? How is ruining the user experience worth whatever was even trying to be done here?

image is how my firefox looks right now

Sorry, you probably noticed that "tabs on bottom" code for userChrome.css would break from time to time. It broke again.

Could you check the following thread where another user and support volunteer are working on the problem:

As a work around, most of the time Shift+Ctrl+Tab will display a list of open tabs for the active window. However, I have found that does not always work. In that case I am left with Ctrl+Page Down or Ctrl+Page Up to scroll through the tabs in each window, one at a time. So inconvenient and annoying.

Hi Bob, maybe it would be less work to temporarily remove your "tabs on bottom" code from your userChrome.css file and just use tabs on top until there is a confirmed solution?

Couldn't figure out how many code lines following the tabs-on-bottom label enabled tabs on bottom. So, I just renamed my userchrome.css file and tabs are back . . . on top. All else seems to be just fine without the userchrome.css code. Pehaps I never needed all the other userchrome.css code in the first place. Thanks for leading me there.

For those who missed the reddit link found on the page linked above, use it. I replaced my old userchrome.css file with a new one containing only the code copied and pasted from the reddit page. It works great and apparently my old userchrome.css had a lot of outdated and superfluous code in it. It was nice to house clean every now and then.

Can you repost the reddit link? I don't see it above. Also, Can we roll back to a previous version. This one sux! It looks like my tabs some how got placed into my bookmarks folder but when I select one it doesn't open a new tab, I just see that one tab. I had a couple hundred tabs open. I need em back.

Ok, next question, Where do we insert this code? Are the specific steps in doing so? Thanks

The code would go into a new userChrome.css file. More info on how to set that up here: https://www.userchrome.org/how-create-userchrome-css.html
