Hi brandon_g, Apologies for the later reply and Happy Holidays! When Flash crashes in Firefox, there are troubleshooting steps that can be recommended to prevent it from happening again.

However, in order to disable flash please click on the Firefox Menu (three horizontal bar button):

  1. From the menu, click on Add ons
  2. Click on Plug ins in the page that opened up
  3. Next to Shockwave Flash player you can click on "Always Activate" and change it to "Ask to Activate"

HI brandon, Reinstalling flash is the default troubleshooting step, however since you do not have admin access to the computer it is possible to disable and renable flash from the about:plugins page.

The other step you can take is to right click on the player and select the Settings. Disable hardware acceleration and restart flash. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).

To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

  1. Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
  2. Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
  3. Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
  4. Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.

The image "fpSettings1.PNG" does not exist.
  5. Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
  6. Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
  7. Restart Firefox.

This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

This problem has been going on for several YEARS. It is unbelievable to me that Mozilla and/or Adobe haven't figured out how to fix it.

And yes, I've been through the troubleshooting steps on this page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/adobe-flash-plugin-has-crashed

Looks like we need to go to a different browser if they have not fixed it after years of complaints.
