Hi, I use Thunderbird. This morning I received a message from Google that they will stop certain Third Party Apps with the gmail service. I was wondering if there is anything I need to do in relation to using Thunderbird. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. Martin

I will be moving away from google if companies will not help those of us that are disabled. And force us to "secure" our accounts. Utter crap https://medium.com/securing/what-is-going-on-with-oauth-2-0-and-why-you-should-not-use-it-for-authentication-5f47597b2611 This is just more big brother shoving what they think is "security" down our throats, beacuse they are lazy and incompetent.

They don't want to support us so I guess Its time to go some where else. Google forgets that WE! make them money.. Firefox has gone the same way and look at the market share they have now.

Maybe instead of doing this crap they could secure the platforms they use platforms. Maybe they could figure out how to stop the spammers on the phone now that use OUR numbers and names. Easy they dont want to. It gives them the excuse to do what they wanted to do in the first place.

Thunderbird supports OAuth2 authentication for Gmail accounts. All you need to do is to turn it on in your account settings for the Gmail account. That goes for both, the incoming, and outgoing server.
