Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox 13 are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.

In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:

Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems

Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again

Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox

Other, more technical information about these issues can be found under these Links:

Please tell us if this helped!

Same happens to me. I updated ALL plugins, and when i play youtube or some flash game online mozilla just lags big time, and pulls that lag completely on PC after which my pc works like it is made out of f%@$ing wood. So this staff reply is useless, fix mozilla and don't make up excuses. If u were honest about troubleshooting your recent updates made no one wouldnt be so much pis#$d off cause of them.

Adobe is working on the problems caused by recent Flash updates. For details please see the Adobe support site:

http://forums.adobe.com/message/4498459

For now if you are experiencing crashes you should re-install a previous version of Flash. Mozilla will keep working with Adobe to help them find and fix the problems in their new version. I'm very sorry this isn't fixed yet!

LIKE I SAID, NONE OF THE SO CALLED SOLUTIONS HAVE WORKED HAVE TRIED THEM ALL SEVERAL TIMES, SAME ******* ISSUE, SO DON'T RECITE **** FROM THE MANUAL, JUST ACTUALLY FIX THE ******* ISSUE.

WHY IS IT ONLY FIREFOX HAS THIS RETARDED ******* ISSUE, THE 4 OTHER BROWSERS i HAVE INSTALLED ALL WORK FINE, OPERA = FINE, CHROME = FINE, SAFARI = FINE, EVEN THE DREADED INTERNET EXPLORER = FINE, I LITERALLY HATE ANYONE THAT WORKS FOR MOZILLA AND "DEVELOPS" FIREFOX, YOU ALL SUCK AT EVERYTHING, INCLUDING LIFE.

The Adobe Flash 11.3 update included changes that only affect Firefox users, for example: http://blogs.adobe.com/asset/2012/06/inside-flash-player-protected-mode-for-firefox.html

Believe me, the problems caused by this update have been a huge pain for Firefox developers as well as for the users who are affected. We are extremely aware of the problems, and we hope Adobe can fix them ASAP; we're working to do what we can on our end too.

Sorry if you are feeling frustrated. As has been explained we are nearly all volunteers.

We have however been trying to provide you with answers, that should work, and we do know work with others in an apparently similar situation.

There is a good chance that downgrading to Flash 10.3 or 11.2 will resolve your problem of crashes. The details of how to do that are currently in the article flash 11.3 crashes downgrade following the instructions in that. Then confirm it has worked by using Firefox to visit the adobe site using the diagnostic link:http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html

  • have you downgraded FlashPlayer
  • what is the exact version number as shown on the Adobe diagnostic link ?
    • Please do NOT reinstall any 11.3 version of FlashPlayer, ignore plugincheck or Adobe instructions to install 11.3 at this point in time please.
    • please attach a screen shot of the result of the Adobe page.

It appears your last post was deleted as offensive. I am sure many users share your frustration at these problems still not being satisfactorily resolved, but if you wish to get answers please try to be polite when asking questions or commenting.

For the YouTube site note one workaround may be to try the option for HTML5 videos.

Developers at Firefox and Adobe will be aware of some of these issues and should have been working on this for the last couple of weeks or so, although I am not sure any quick fix is expected.

You could consider looking up a couple of recent Crash IDs, by navigating to about:crashes that will at least assist in confirming the cause of your crashes.

You seem reluctant to give details of software extensions in use, saying

 "Installed Plug-ins
the only one you need to be concerned with is the F#%KING flash plugin."

It would in fact be useful to have such information, that is why it is requested. You also mention :

"still happening, somehow flash player reinstalled itself on my pc and magically reactivated itself in firefox, this is ridiculous, I hate you all... "

It is quite possible that is cause by software installed on your machine that you are not making us aware of !

I hope if you ask further questions there is still someone willing to assist you.

I hawikihis problem too! It's really, REALLY bad! It's the worst problem I've EVER had with any browser ever since I started using the internet 15 years ago!!

Firefox has become so un-useable that I can only browse for about 10 minutes before it crashes. I then restart Firefox, I can browse for 2 minutes and then it completely crashes and I can't restart it because Taskamanger can't close it! So I have to RESTART MY PC!!

Having to restart my PC every 15 minutes is not fun! AH the good ol' days when you could browse for more than 10 minutes without everything crashing and having to restart your PC! I miss them ol' days!

Holy s***! It's ridiculous!

ok so no more crashes, but seems flash player is so sluggish watching any video or visiting a site with flash is a nightmare, I still blame firefox and adobe, because disabling flash and everything goes back to normal, except most sites utilise some flash, which makes surfing the internet a chore I would rather swap for bodily harm by sharp objects, you guys can't get your act together so bye bye firefox, you were good till you got ****** up the *** by adobe and liked it so you let it happen again and again.

rot in hell you losers.
