I am looking for a way to close all hidden tabs at once.

I have this add-on "Simple Tab Groups" that keeps putting unused tabs in the "Hidden Tabs" section of firefox. This add-on does this when I open tabs before it's finished doing something with a busy icon. Now I have about 50 or more tabs in my "Hidden Tabs" section. But I can't find a way to close them all and not having to close each one by one.

Hi e-motiv, if the tabs are hidden, I think it will be difficult to close them using built-in methods, such as the X button, right-click > Close tab, or the Ctrl+w keyboard shortcut.

Can the author of the Simple Tab Groups extension add/improve its feature to close hidden tabs, or a way to unhide and bulk select them? Once tabs are bulk selected, right-click > Close Tabs or Ctrl+w will close them in one step.

Hi jscher2000,

I have asked. As reference: https://github.com/Drive4ik/simple-tab-groups/issues/379

PS It would already mean a lot if the Firefox developers just put an "x" to each item of the "Hidden Tabs" list. Now one has to right click, which takes very long for 50 items compared to just keep clicking on the same place where the next item's "x" will be. Just a suggestion. (To be honest I don't think the addon developer will do what I ask. We all know how it goes. No blame intended. I'm an addon programmer myself and don't have time to enable all features my users ask.)

I assume you mean on the "Tab Manager" drop-down, as pictured in: Access hidden tabs in Firefox.

That drop-down is under active revision, adding the features pictured in this proposal (as adjusted through discussion): https://bug1494755.bmoattachments.org/attachment.cgi?id=9128281

The right-click context menu is expected to be enabled in Firefox 75.

I don't see "x" close buttons there, someone would need to file a new bug and make the case for it. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

Yes, indeed

I made one: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1620199

Click STG icon on toolbar. Click “Show other tabs”. Click “Create new group with all of these tabs”. Go into the new group and close them all (or delete the group).

that's only for the ones of the last session. E.g. I just did what you said, there was one tab there. Still 60 or so in 'Hidden tabs' (from previous sessions). thanks though

Click on the message saying you have hidden tabs and you get a sub-menu. One of the options is "Open (or possibly move) hidden tabs in a new group". Once they're in the new group you can close them all (or delete the group).

very nice idea; alas I don't get that message. Maybe there is a way to force it, but haven't found one yet.
