How can I stop symbols like these, Â , from appearing in my email text.

more options

For years now, I have been seeing various symbols appear in my text when I am composing a message in the Thunderbird Composer (at least, that's what I think it's called). I also see these symbols in the messages that I receive. The majority of these messages are the, "Ȃ", an upper case A with the carrot ^ atop. This symbol has been appearing in my Thunderbird text for many years and it's driving me nuts!

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely, Jim Sims

Hi This same problem occurs when the database connection string uses an incorrect character encoding type. You can reconfig your email account again. Be careful! don't loss any data items.
