This does not happen all the time but occurs from time to time and is very frustrating. It usually put the text at the front end of the URL when I paste it somewhere. What is going on?

Are you running IE Tab? There is currently a bug that causes that for URLs copied from IE Tab

Yes, I figured it out about a half hour after posting my question here. I saw "ietab" in the text that was inserted and that led me to the fact that it was the IE Tab add on that was doing it. But thank you very much for replying. I hope the IE Tab people fix this soon.
