So in my address bar when i type "op" the website "openoffice.org" is always first on the list of suggestions. I can not get rid of it for the life of me. I've tried shift+delete, no go though.

Is this the "in-URL-bar" autofill feature, where the domain appears under your cursor as you type? The same domain also appears in the top row of the drop-down with "— Visit", echoing the suggestion in the address bar?

If you ever visited openoffice.org, Firefox keeps that domain handy for the in-URL-bar autofill feature, even if you removed all visits to the site from your history.* To remove it from the domains list, the fastest method should be:

(A) Visit the site, then

(B) In the Library dialog (Ctrl+Shift+h or "Show All History") right click the site's URL and choose Forget About This Site -- that should more thoroughly remove the history, as well as cache, cookies, bookmarks, permissions, and any other information Firefox has stored related to the site

* Autofill domains are stored in the moz_hosts table in the places database, for anyone researching this.

Location Bar (aka Awesome Bar) suggestions can be from Bookmarks, Browsing History, or Open Tabs

"openoffice.org" might be a bookmark that you have saved. If so, delete that bookmark or deselect "Bookmarks" from suggestions.

Unfortunately this did not help. It is not a bookmark, I looked and i turned off book mark suggestions. Still comes up.

Well, if it's not a bookmark or browsing history I have no idea why that would appear in the Location Bar.

Do you have Open Office installed?
