When I try to open any website, I click enter then the address bar just clears and nothing happens. This even hapens in the search bar (but the entered string stays). I've tried following these steps - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-dont-load-troubleshoot-and-fix-errors but nothing works. I even removed the "Firefox" folder from the private folder ("%APPDATA%\Mozilla\") and the problem remains.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Thank you for the fast reply. I am not using any firewall software, but for some reason, my avast shields were all off. I updated the program, restarted, enabled shields and the problem disappeared.

Thank you or the help.
