Fire Fox 11.0 didn't crash. I closed it normally. It always remembers my tabs. For some reason when I started up fire fox this time it was a completely new session and all my tabs are gone.

I don't know why but I want to know how to restore them. Fire Fox is set to load previous session. This didn't happen neither did I get the message: Oopps this is embarrassing. Do you want to restore your previous session?

When I go to about:Home I can't say restore previous session either because all I see is "Using Firefox on several computers? Now you can synchronize your add-ons across them all. Find out how to activate Sync."

If you click "History", can you restore your previous session from there?

Also, make sure you update to Firefox 12.

You can check the Firefox Profile Folder to see if there is a sessionstore-##.js file with a number in the name from around that time.

Is you see such file(s) the make a backup copy and copy the sessionstore-##.js with the number to sessionstore.js to see if that brings back the lost session.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

Windows may hide the .js file extension, so make sure that the copy or rename is done properly by checking the properties of the file.

I have the same problem, though the real problem right now is that all my sessionstore-##.js files are really really old. The new ones that are supposed to be there doesn't seem to exist. Is there anyway to find them?

Also, i run Firefox 12 if that is a issue.
