Error when dragging some bookmarks to desktop

Normally, I can click on a bookmark or an address bar icon and drag it to my desktop or a folder to make a link to the page. But with some web pages (example: Amazon, some NYT pages), I get the following error: "MethodNotAllowed ". I'm using Fx 3.6.11 in Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic).

However, the Deskcut extension can make a link with no error. Deskcut provides a work-around, but dragging is much more convenient.

Any thoughts?

Thank you.
