I had some computer problems today and tried a new VPN program but it conflicted with my Majic Jack so I uninstalled it. My FF was working fine when I logged off but when I logged back on it won't bring up any pages, just blank.

I uninstalled and downloaded but I still can't get any web pages to load.

HI, please give this a try : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's(Win10) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 59.0.3 with a Full Version Installer

Hi, There are no files in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) as I think I already deleted these prior to my last install of FF and there is no C:\ProgramData folder.

Anyway, I will proceed with restart and disk cleanup. I don't understand the backup part. I have an Old Fire Fox data folder on my desktop. I think that has already been created.

I am going to restart my system now and do the other procedures.

It didn't work. I did the Disk Cleanup, Clean Sys Files, Used the link for a Full Install, V60, and it is not working. I can't browse with it at all.

I actually get the Home Page now and it is not blank. But won't browse.

Now, it is a blank page after I did a Refresh. I tried to browse for Firefox and this is what I got.

I don't know if this helps you trouble shoot the problem. I just came across these files and didn't know if perhaps some needed to be deleted.

I have all these folders in Old FF Data although I think it just looks at the latest one but if I should delete all the old ones let me know.

I did a system restore. I gave up getting the answer here. Of course, now I lost all my Pass Words and Bookmarkd, although it is in the Old FF Data Folder. If someone could step me through restoring them that would be great.

Did you do this when I asked you to uninstall ?

Also it is not good to just keep posting as it shows 11 replies so I did not bother looking at this anymore as figured others were working on it.

If you did not do the above like I asked you to then : you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.

Please do this also :

  • Repair System Registry and Files

Find the Dos Prompt or Powershell then Right Click and Run as Administrator then : Copy/Paste to Dos Window : sfc /scannow ( SFC<space>/Scannow ) then hit Enter. Reboot when completed.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Yes, but when I did the install it did not pull anything over automatically. I do see a file created today in the Old FF Data File, and whether they should have come over or not I don't know but they didn't come over automatically.
