My email client is Bigpond and since mid December 2016 Thunderbird has stopped receiving my emails. Nothing was changed on my end. Can you please advise

My email client is Bigpond and since mid December2016 Thunderbird stopped working. I didnt change anything or touch anything. i really think Bigpond/Telstra has something to do with it. Can someone help me to get Thunderbird working again please.

Thanks this helped, but when I update Thunderbird it stopped working again. So I reloaded my older version of Thunderbird this morning ( Monday 9th Jan 2017). It started to work again. Must be a glinch in the latest version of Thunderbird.

No glitch in Thunderbird. But there is probably a glitch in your anti virus. Almost everyone who tells me what you did use Nortons and need to manually tweak it's firewall component to allow the new version to work. for every new version.
