Using Windows 7 & latest win-updates i cannot close firefox without a new window telling that i am going to close tabs. I know that but i just want to close firefox and save the tabs for a later restart. This has always worked so far for any update in firefox that i remember. Now i lose always my standard 12 tabs & have to set them up again after closing and restarting. If this cannot be solved i have to quit using firefox. Sorry for that!

If Firefox starts up with your home page, check the History menu to see whether Restore Previous Session is available -- if it is, this should replace your current session tabs with the previous ones. If it is grayed out, check under Previously Closed Windows or Restore Closed Windows to see whether Firefox restored the missing window as closed rather than open.

Also, could you double-check your startup setting is to restore previous session windows and tabs: Startup, home page, tabs, and download settings.

Does any of that help so far?

Jefferson, thanks for your prompt answer upon which i found that in my german version the setting-(einstellungen-)menue tab "general" (allgemein) was incorrectly set to "wenn firefox gestartet wird:" "startseite anzeigen" "upon starting firefox: show startpage" instead of "fenster & tabs der letzten sitzung anzeigen" "show windows & tabs from last exit". i am happy that this problem is solved. to my knowledge it never occured (!) in previous updates! thanks!
