I was having issues with Sync no longer working. I am on the latest version.

I signed out and when I try to sign back in I get 'Unexpected Error' in a red bar across the box. I tried using my work email to set up a new account and get the same thing.

I tried refreshing Firefox as I saw that suggestion in another thread but even after refreshing I still get 'Unexpected Error.'

Any suggestions?

hello, when you type about:sync-log into the address bar and open the latest one or two error logs, can you copy their contents and put them into http://pastebin.mozilla.org/ or a similar service and paste a link here on the forum? this would be very helpful in assessing the problem. thank you!

I have tried doing this but my log doesn't have any entries in it. I get this Unexpected Error even when I try to reset my password. It seems I can't do anything with sync, including logging in.

please check in the firefox menu ≡ > options > advanced > network > connection - settings... if firefox is set up to directly connect to the internet ('no proxy').

It is set as 'use system proxy settings.'

Should it be no proxy instead?

yes, please try this - you also have the fiddler root extension present which might be used to intercept secure network traffic - firefox sync might detect that the connection is not secure and stops loading because of that...

Make sure that you allow cookies for the accounts.firefox.com domain if you aren't allowing cookies generally or use the 'Ask me' cookie setting. Various data is stored in localStorage and sessionStorage, so make sure that DOM storage is enabled.

A few things that you can try: Disconnect Sync and reconnect to Sync. Delete the signedInUser.json file in the profile folder with Firefox closed and possibly delete the Weave folder as well. Delete and re-create the FxA account.
