I've been anticipating the new update I was told would be today, and it was. After I updated it to Version 28 I opened FF and it immediately crashed. I sent in a crash report, and did that three other times. So now, sadly, I'm back to version 27 that stinks as well.

Anyone have any ideas as to whats wrong with it?? I checked my addons for compatibility and said they were fine. I did nothing different except update to newest version. Not sure what else to do. I refuse to uninstall anything at this point, although that seems to be the basic "advice" given here.....it never solves my problems LOL

So, what next?? And thanks for any help.

I have Windows 7

Figured a way around it all.

Okay like I said in my last post, Yesterday I disabled Shockwave in Plugins. However, as you all know, you need shockwave and flash for most things....so I went back and set it to say "ASK TO ACTIVATE" so when a web page loads and needs it, it will ask me and then I'll either say "yes" or "no" and that seems to be working. So far, after three hours it hasn't crashed and shockwave/flash all work fine when it needs it.

So, maybe this bit of info helps the developers to FIX this problem for good :) (fingers crossed)

Also Cor-el Thank you, I've actually already done all of that earlier. None of it seemed to work except what I've just said. Thanks for helping out tho :)

I marked the solution as the work around, however if at any point it continues to crash please do not hesitate for further investigation.

I'll give FF another try with your work-around solution but I can tell you the last time I tried to disable hardware acceleration my PC became unresponsive, so much so I had to reset into safe mode to remove FF. I'll keep you informed of the results :)

I agree with Halofromsue; shame it doesn't really help in my case. One of the worst facebook apps I've come across is Megapolis, which can have an overhead of between 700MB to 1.3GB the plugin-container simply can't handle without freezing a few times.

I think the issue is app makers aren't very consientious when it comes to streaming on older systems.

You're welcome my friend. Its pretty pathetic that me, a school bus driver knows more about a "fix" for FF than those that have degrees and do it LOL

Now, I have a NEW problem with it. Figures. Gonna go search and see if I can find a solution as to why the Tabs dont load web pages until I refresh the page. Talk about doing everything TWICE.
