Hello,

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.

(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)

  • You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.

Thank you.

can you reproduce this if windows transparency "aero" is off?

still there with windows basic theme. how about disabling tab highlight?

There is no way to disable tab hightlight. You do have lots of empty toolbars

I found a add on can change tab color. the white strip is more annoying than anything for using themes. The white strip is destroying a black theme.

You are currently using a Persona (lightweight theme).

Can you post a screenshot without this Persona enabled and with the default theme?

You can probably hide this bottom line with code in userChrome.css.

Bump, so is there a solution yet? so the guys who suggest going in safemode, dont have this white tint, or white shadow underneath the tabsbar?

cuz im sure its just part of firefox to add a nice effect, but it looks horrible when u use a persona, i will post another screenshot showing you what i mean with the white tint.

The white tint IS there but is Very hard to see when u dont use a persona and use the default firefox theme

so as you can see the white tint looks really horrible when u use a persona can there be an option or a tweak to disable it maybe in a next release of firefox if we cant tweak it.

thx

ok fixed it, i swear this didnt work the 5 other times i tried it but what i did now was, right click on the white tint and disable the Navigation bar or whatever is underneath the menu bar. now the white tint should be gone, u might also wanna get the stuff from the navigation bar uit and put it in a new bar. but ull figure out the rest. just make navigation bar empty and disable it.

This looks still like a problem with an extension or theme that causes some toolbars to show lighter.

Did you try to disable all extensions?
