Working with opensuse 11.1 -64bit, zypper upgraded automatic firefox to 3.6+ but stopped, so I've installed Firefox v12 and now automatically upgraded to 14.0.1. All this time if I work with FF3.6 my plugins work fine, but in FF14 no plugins work. I'm especially interested in java & flash plugins. Please help.

I've already installed jre1.7.0_05 and tried to link libnpjp2.so to /usr/lib64/browser-plugins

Hi,

If the installed Firefox is 32-bit, you would need to install the 32-bit Flash and Java plugins. You can check the installed build by typing about: or about:support in the location (address) bar.

Flash installation

Java installation

The openSUSE forum would also be helpful.

No problem :)

You can try to set plugin.expose_full_path to true in about:config and then enter about:plugins in the location (address) bar to check the path and versions being used/detected. Hopefully this would provide some insight.

It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.

See "Manually uninstalling a plugin":
