How can I specify a Label when I am composing an new email?
In order to assign a label to a new email message, I have to compose the msg and then send it. THEN I have to look for the message in SENT MAIL and assign the label. This is too many steps. I should be able assign a label while composing the text of the message. (Perhaps I just don't understand something?)

You are so correct - my question should have been directed to Gmail. I appreciate your time and am sorry to have wasted your time
