Firefox loses domain name!!
When I enter a valid address in the address bar, or click a link on google search, the domain name is dropped from the address bar to give e.g www.co.uk and FF returns 'invalid page requested' this happens with several different websites, but sites can be accessed using IE. Clearing cache and cookies fixes issue but gives unresponsive script error errorcript: chrome://browser/content/sanitize.js:133

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Thx for reply, changed DNS setting on router from 'auto from ISP' to specific DNS server IP addresses and not had the problem since (yet!)
Spoke too soon, similar problem today with all Google Adwords links attempting to route to googleadservices.com and returning invalid page requested. Another PC with same version of FF attached to same router did not have the problem. Problems seem to have started when I started using Opera (rarely) and Google Chrome (even more rarely) on this machine - any ideas out there, this is driving me nuts!

That issue is caused by Firefox clearing cookies created by plugins like Flash.
You can instead clearing cookies in the Cookie Manager.
Isn't clearing the cache enough?
Does it help if you disable IE Tab?
Just had the original problem back and clearing the cache didn't solve it, will try out your thought of disabling IE Tab, although problem doesn't happen all the time so may take a while to test.
Have been running FF7 with IE Tab extension disabled for a few days now and problem has just recurred - in 'Safari for Windows 5.1.1!' also in Opera, and Chrome and of course FF. Strange thing is I cleared the FF cache and pages then loaded normally in all browsers - this was not an obscure site it was google.co.uk. Don't get what connection there is between the cache in FF and the other browser's operation - anyone?
Has anyone seen this behaviour before? Any ideas as to how to troubleshoot - doesn't sound like FF since it happens in other browsers, but strange how clearing the FF cache fixes it (sometimes) could this be a router issue?, DNS? ???
