How do I downgrade/roll-back from Firefox 5 to Firefox 4? I have had nothing but problems with Firefox 5.
I have had nothing but problems with it. At least once a day it crashes. It even crashes on mozilla.com with no other tabs open. Sites are slow. Much slower than they should be. Google takes a good minute to 2 minutes to load. It is a crapshoot for me if I will have any bookmarks when I load firefox.
I have not had any of these problems with Firefox 4.

There could be a problem in your Firefox profile. For example, one of your add-ons may be causing the issue. If you are willing to try a little troubleshooting, you could test in Firefox's Safe Mode, which temporarily disables your add-ons.

From the Help menu, choose "Restart with Add-ons disabled". If you can't get to the Help menu before Firefox locks up or crashes, hold the Shift key when you restart Firefox. More info: Safe Mode.

In response to your question, due to security vulnerabilities, rolling back to Firefox 4.0.1 is not recommended. Firefox 3.6.18 would be the safer choice.
Here's the process to roll back:

Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Close Firefox 5.
You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.

No, Firefox does not work at all with Add-ons disabled. It would not even load.
Installing Firefox 3.6 seems to have fixed all of the problems I was experiencing.
