How do I prevent the Add-on Bar automatically starting up when I start Firefox?

Since the Status Bar was replaced with the Add-on Bar, it automatically launches whenever I start Firefox. However, I have used the Toolbar Customise command to add the icons for the only add-ons that use the Add-on Bar to the Tab Bar so I no longer need the Add-on Bar. How do I prevent it automatically launching at start-up?

If that toolbar is empty then that bar shouldn't get visible if you start Firefox.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

The Add-on Bar is not empty, that's the point. However, I don't need it because I now have those icons on the Tab Bar. I just want to be able to start Firefox without launching the Add-on Bar.

If there is something on the Add-ons bar that needs attention (i.e. an extension places data on it) then Firefox will display that bar automatically. I don't think that you can avoid that.

As reported elsewhere a modified version of the Firefox userChrome.css file can be used to prevent the Add-on Bar being launched at Firefox restart. You can find a copy of this code in the file I have posted in my Public folder on Skydrive here: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=8997700dc0fb2601&sc=documents&uc=1&id=8997700DC0FB2601%21119# This can be downloaded and installed in the Firefox profile chrome folder, alongside the two examples provided by Mozilla.
