How do I get rid of that blue box with the firefox logo and app folder? The one I where I dragged the Firefox logo into the app folder to install?

Upon opening Firefox, (it's already installed and I've used it many times) How do I get rid of that blue box with the Firefox logo and app folder? The one I where I dragged the Firefox logo into the app folder to install?

I've tried it dragging it again and I got this error:

An item named “Firefox” already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it with the one you’re moving?

I have even uninstalled and installed and I get the same thing. It must be in the preferences but I can't find it. Help please.

Trash the current Firefox installation before installing the new version.

I think that you're clicking on the install file for Firefox instead of opening the application launcher for Firefox.

Try this to see if it helps:

(1) Open a new finder window.

(2) Click on the 'Applications' folder in the left hand pane. It should be listed under 'Places'.

(3) Scroll down and look for the Firefox icon, and double click it.

(4) If a Firefox icon shows up in your dock, right click the icon and under 'Options' click 'Keep in Dock'.

If the blue box didn't show up when you did it this way, then your problem is fixed.
