Starting today (7/8/26), Firefox opens with a "cannot connect" message, have tried multiple online suggestions including downloading and "reinstalling" but nothing works

Additional information: I can connect with other browsers so it's not an internet connection issue. I also can no longer get my mail using Thunderbird - get "problem loading page" messages. I can still get email via my phone.
