Each folder has it's own settings as to sort order. Once you modify the default then it is up to you to choose when and what folders you use it on.

Hi Matt, thanks for your reply. My apologies if I didn't explain clear enough. But I learned more in the meantime.

I'm sure I did set descending in settings but didn't see "apply to all folders / chose folder". It's actually only one email account where messages are ascending. They still are and "apply to all folders" does not change it now. But that might be because they were sent and received before I set the settings to descending... ?

I'm sure it is all set and will work right now.
