All my add ons are gone
i was browsing youtube and suddenly got an ad, which is how i noticed my add-ons were gone. all of them, not just the ad blocker. and they had still been there like a couple of minutes ago. when i go to download any extension, i've tried a lot of them, it just says "installation aborted because the add-on appears to be corrupt" but it doesn't say what i can do about that. please help!

Hi, Firefox no longer being able to verify your extensions -- and therefore disabling them and failing to install new ones -- is caused by old versions of Firefox not having an updated certificate.
Can you update? Your Firefox said it's on macOS 10.15, so it should work. Options are:
- Extended Support Release of Firefox 128: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/desktop-esr/
- Current regular release, Firefox 136: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/desktop-release/
More information on this situation: Update Firefox to prevent add-ons issues from root certificate expiration.
Now, there may be some reason you haven't updated for over four years that we can help with, such as settings issues, user interface, etc. Let us know how we can help you customize your Firefox to your liking.
Hi, thank you for your answer! I have avoided updating Firefox because I hate UI changes. Last night, after posting this question, I think something updated? It looks all wrong, which I can learn to live with, but I'd rather not. Is there a way to update and still keep the old looks? oh and even with the apparent update I still can't install extensions

What version do you have now?
There is a date-time value in the prefs.js file (editable through about:config) which determines the time when Firefox next tries to re-verify your extensions. You may need to reset that value so Firefox doesn't wait until tomorrow. Here's how:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future.
(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste xpi-signature-verification and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Click the trash can at the right end of the row for the app.update.lastUpdateTime.xpi-signature-verification preference to remove this preference
(3) Do a normal exit/restart of Firefox, and within about a minute Firefox should reverify your extensions
