Firefox browser has nothing to do with the Windows 11 update or upgrade. The Firefox browser should retain as before in Windows 10 if that was the prior OS but if the upgrade doesn't go well then that's Windows issue to fix that.

Hi Barbara, I have not updated a laptop from Windows 10 to Windows 11, so I don't know what Windows offers in the way of migration options.

When you "Reset" Windows, you have the option to keep your data in place, or move it to a temporary folder (retained for 28 days), or delete it. The in-place option is simplest, but the temporary folder also allows recovery. Either way, it's a good idea to make a backup somewhere outside your computer (for example, on a USB hard drive). See: Manually back up and restore Firefox profile data.

With respect to your Mozilla account password, you might want to write that down on a piece of paper in case something goes wrong with the file transfer.

Good morning,

Thank you so much Mark & JS for your kind replies.

I will keep everything crossed when I update to windows 11.

JS, I have no idea how I can find my Mozilla password... Mozilla loged me in, remembering me...

I have looked in the Password (hold file) but cannot see it.. just do not know how I can find it.

Again, thank you so much for your help and advice.

Hi Barbara, Firefox stores a token of some kind that allows reconnecting to the Sync cloud. It doesn't store the actual password unless you previously added it yourself. So you may need to reset your password to connect on the new computer. This will flush the data in the Sync cloud, but you still have the local data.
