when i download a pdf from Chase.com it automatically assigns a password to it even though i never asked it to do this. . chase says they do not attach a pswd to their statements. however, when downloaded by firefox there is some type of password in it. i can read it, but cannot edit it. i have tried using different pdf editors ,Foxit or adobe. it always asks for the psword yet i never assigned one to it and i dont want to. chase support says it is my browser security. please help

Then you need to contact Chase about this as this could be imbedded into the pdf if that is the case. If Adobe Acrobat can't edit or release this means Chase is the issuer of the security not Adobe.

i am sending you 2 screenshots. one shows that when firefox downloads the pdf it comes in as a secure doc. Chase says that they do not secure it. the second one is when i try inserting another pdf from Chase. it asks for a password. Again Chas esays that they do no add password security.

when firefox is downloading it it opens a screen to don;load it. this is the URL that it shows when downloading it. https://secure02ea.chase.com/web/auth/pdfviewer?docKey=840c29f5-564f-4e92-b3be-cf0e6059ab45&sor=STAR_MS&adaVersion=true&csrftoken=aef0c0b43d1eb5242ca84b1f5f08b96b54a2e966d8c92228ab4ed1a3df9b728a

Go to Options > Applications, then find the listing for Portable Document Format (PDF). Under the Action column, you'll see that it's set for Preview in Firefox. Click the drop-down list to select an alternate PDF viewer.
