Hello,

Ever since upgrading to Firefox 107.0, I'm denied access to select website, some of which are corporate websites such as Nokia and others. The latest occurrence had the following reference no#:

Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://www.nokia.com/phones/support" on this server.

Reference #18.9cf7df17.1669164130.8b3c1e51

If I employ other browsers like Safari or Brave, I'm able to successfully access both this page and others which are restricted on Firefox. So, what might be causing this to happen? Firefox is my preferred browser, therefore I'd like to find a fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

cor-el,

I use neither a Proxy, nor a VPN. Additionally, I was aware of clearing caches and cookies as a possible solution. Likewise the 'Forget About This Site' option. What did not occur to me however was the 'Fingerprinting' option which ultimately resolved the issue. Thanks for your quick response and informed suggestions!

"You don't have permission to access..." errors are characteristic of a firewall that protects the server against misuse and this firewall thinks something is suspicious about the HTTP request. If you use a proxy or VPN then try to use a direct connection. Select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

  • Settings -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings

You can try to clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the padlock button or via "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences) to see if that fixes it.

I've also seen cases where having "Resist Fingerprinting" enabled was causing this issue.

If this all doesn't work then you can try "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history item.
