Unable to type a "space"
When typing comments on a web blog, after the spacebar is used, the first letter of the next word eliminates the previously typed space. So what I end up with is all words in a sentence running together. Tried other browsers and they work fine. Changed keyboard as well no joy. Typing is normal in applications like adobe, word, etc..... Only happens during Firefox use......... Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, also no help..... How do I fix ?

I think that, based on other comments, this is about the space being the last character on a line, i.e. as long as there is another character present (can be any character, doesn't have to be a period), beyond where you are typing then it works.
I have this problem on Fox News and the NY Post websites. I have tried FF with everything disabled and in troubleshoot mode. Still happens. The only way i have found to get around this issue is to start by typing a series of periods first, like this: ................................. Then all works ok and I just need to go back and remove them as they are not overwritten, just "pushed along". At first i thought it was my keyboard acting up so i even tried a brand new MS that i have as a backup. Nothing helps. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
To unk3737: I don't think you need to enter so many periods! I enter just one, and it works. In fact, I just checked, and you can type any single visible character and it works, although by using a single period you don't have to delete anything later.
Using OpenWeb comments on Newsweek website. The problem of spaces being automatically deleted in text entered in an article comment. Example: Typing zzz z will automatically become zzzz as soon as the 4th z is typed. I use Firefox in OpenWeb forum at Yahoo news and have no problem.
Problem started for me on 9/5/22. This only happens using Firefox. Never had this problem in the past. Tried Edge browser without problem. I disabled all add-ons in Firefox but problem persists. Restarting computer made no difference. Ran a scan for bugs on computer nothing found.
UPDATE-9/11/22 Problem is gone. Something must have gotten repaired. The issue seemed to be a bug in removing trailing space(s).

Something happened overnite.............My pc did not take any updates on any firmware or software. The "space" problem seems to be fixed somehow. Why ?? How ?? Not a clue. So far several blog entries have not exhibited any weird behavior. I'll give it a few more days before declaring it fixed
I can confirm, the bug has gone away. I assume all these various platforms with the bug all use the same javascript functions for text entry, and whoever created that script has fixed it.
Yay!!
YES! It would appear to have been fixed.

Thank you all for the confirmations. If someone is not seeing the change yet, you could try clearing Firefox's web cache so it cannot reuse older versions of the OpenWeb scripts. This article has the steps:
How to clear the Firefox cache
That same dialog allows clearing all cookies, too, but unless you want to get logged out of everything, make sure to UN-check (clear) that box.

Same problem here! (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1388924) started to appear first week of September. First noticed in the comment section (OpenWeb) of i.e. Fox News. affects only Firefox. others i.e. chrome or edge do not have the issue. Tried all FF versions from 88 to: 104.X on a virtual machine. version 88 and 104.X also on a real system. Same problem with Waterfox (G4.1.5) Windows OS version is irrelevant. in my opinion this is a Firefox <> OpenWeb compatibility issue triggered by this eternal endless update mania. Got so far only some very irrelevant and wacky answers but no solution.

This is really a BIGGIE problem. Somewhat astounded that there's been no official response from Mozilla Foundation. ... and would be curious if the Temp Fix posted above, to re-insert a leading space character, works for others?

We're getting there...

We are indeed getting there. I've been predicting the technological collapse is coming!! It's all around us. Entire super market chains go offline because of a programming error. Entire east coast gas line shut down because hackers. Unbreakable blockchains are broken into... billions stolen. Hertz car renters arrested due to computer error, NSA hacked, super secret hacking tools stolen! It's a long list!! I need to buy that plot of rural land soon!!
I'm going to lock this thread since is has been confirmed that the issue has been fixed on affected websites. If you still have a problem then please create a new thread.
