On August 5th a screen popup saying it wanted to download Flash Player. I wasn't sure it was real. I read the directions then finally decided it was OK. By then I had forgotten how to proceed and and the screen on "how to" had disappeared. I couldn't figure it out. File is: flashplayer32_ka_install.exe Would I delete this file and you send me another one or if I click it would the instructions show up. Thanks, Judy

Delete that file. Then follow these directions;

Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

Flash Player Version 32.0.0.223

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only> +++++++++++++++++++ See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

Since 10 has a flash player inside it can I just delete that file in downloads and forget the whole thing? I don't view many videos and I still hate windows 10! I was perfectly content with XP. Yes I am 80 and not very computer literate.

One final question: "See if there are updates for graphics drivers." Is that necessary?? Thank you so much for your patience! Judy

If you get a pop-up message asking to update Firefox or plugins or scanning for malware then such a message is likely a scam and you should NEVER respond to such an alert to avoid getting infected with malware.

  • only update Firefox via "Help -> About" or by downloading and installing Firefox from the Mozilla and never via a pop-up or link on a web page.
  • plugins should only be updated via the plugin itself or by visiting the home page of the plugin.
