Hi,

Thanks, but did not help. I tried it in the Safe Mode and Refreshing.
  • Does this happen after a fresh Restart of your Router/Modem and computer?
  • Is this a direct-connect or a Wi-Fi setup and is your Wi-Fi signal strong?
  • Is your Wi-Fi on 2.4GHz or 5?
  • Are there many competing signals in you area?
  • Do you have other interfering 2.4GHz or 5GHz devices nearby?
  • Do you have plenty of computer Memory and Drive space?

Please do the following:

Click on the Windows icon 'Start' (bottom-left) and in the right column, bottom, click on Run. Enter in:

DxDiag /64bit

...Wait until the green bar loads and disappears, then click "Save All Information".
Post back here in the Forum with a Copy-n-Paste of just these information parts, under these three Headers:

System Information

Display Devices

Disk & DVD/CD-ROM Drives

Also, look at the column-box Related on the right-side of this page to see if any of those articles or posts help.

Thanks great reply. It happens randomly for some period of time for any website opened and than after some time it can stop and loads any website immediately. Router and computer were restarted before and internet is wired WiFi shut off. I had before hard drive full and solved it by deleting all temp files so I should have enough space.

Thanks great reply. It happens randomly for some period of time for any website opened and than after some time it can stop and loads any website immediately. Router and computer were restarted before and internet is wired WiFi shut off. I had before hard drive full and solved it by deleting all temp files so I should have enough space. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 5/1/2019, 14:34:34 Machine name: ASUS-PC Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_ldr_escrow.190220-1800) Language: Finnish (Regional Setting: Finnish) System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. I had before hard drive full and solved it by deleting all temp files so I should have enough space.

Hmm. It shows you have just under 20% disk space remaining. That must have been a lot worse before you cleared your Temp files. It's best to have at LEAST 25% or more free-remaining hard drive space.

Is FF working better now?

Also you might want to recheck 'Disk Cleanup':

Windows 7 Disk Cleanup:

I did some time ago suggest increasing the Windows 7 Paging File, but after experimenting with that for a while, I find it's best to leave it at automatic. Windows will increase or decrease it as necessary.

Another performance problem for older computers, like mine (Nov 2010) is the main performance bottleneck for FireFox and programs in general in Win7, is the HDD!

I've turned-off Windows 7 Defrag back in Jan and just recently did a manual Defrag of my C: drive. It was 1% Fragged. I did notice a slight bit of gain in performance since then.

I'll Defrag about every 2 months or so. Auto-Defragging with some older computer systems is jut another overall performance hit.

I'm thinking of getting a new HDD or maybe SDD. This should help FF's performance. (Wink)

Have you ever run Windows 7 'Disk Cleanup'? With all programs closed and you sitting at the Desktop, Open the Control Panel in Windows 7 and select Performance Information and Tools and in the left column, 'Open Disk Cleanup'.

Or, in Windows Explorer, Copy-n-Paste this:

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Performance Information and Tools

  • When the 2nd box finally pops-up, skip doing anything there first and select the Button, "Clean up system files".
  • Wait until the 4th box pops-up.
  • Choose the "More Options" Tab and run the items in there as needed.
  • Then come back the the "Disk Clean up" Tab.

Select each Title to see the Description of each item. You can select all check-boxes to clean-up all these file types, especially any that are very large in file size.

Once that is done. Run "Disk Cleanup" again and check the list again and if you wish, select/unselect check-boxes and click the "Ok" button to run it again.

Thanks again great reply I did before the disk cleanup until I found out to empty the temp file but now with your additional instructions I did it again and it really helped a lot it removed a lot system error memory dump files and now I have 157gb free space. Firefox is still with same problem. And disk defragmentation I tried to analyze the C disk it stuck on 64% too long so stopped it and tried to defrag it but it just does not do anything is stuck so could not do it.

Firefox still has the same problem.

And disk de-fragmentation: I tried to analyze the C: disk. It gets stuck on 64%. Takes too long, so stopped it and tried to defrag it, but it just does not do anything.

Wow! Over a 100GB reclaimed! You'll need to find out what the Windows 7 Error messages are about, when they start logging again.

I assume you keep Windows 7 SP1 Up-To-Date? (All caught-up-to-date with Windows Update.)

With All programs stopped/closed the next time you have a chance, re-analyze your HDD again. Let it run overnight if need be. If it finally gets past 64% and finishes, then DeFrag the drive. (Also, let me know what percentage of the drive was Fragged if you succeed in analyzing the drive.) If you cant' analyze the drive... I expect you may have a HDD problem? (GASP!)

Hi thanks again for your help. My hard drive quickly filled up after that disk cleanup went to like 15% free space but now I did like you said I tried more the defragmenter few times and now already three days I'm leaving it working and it is still barely moving, it is at the moment pass 6: 26% consolidated, but already the computer and websites are loading better. So at the moment the disk is better has regained more than 150gb space.

Hi now it completed defragmenting after several days and have over 200gb space definitively helped a lot thanks for this Pj. Few windows updates just give errors installing so did not get installed. I don't know what percent was the defragment but now it is completed so it just says 0%
