cannot play youtube html5 video. None of the solutions you posted work so far.
I am on windows 7. The firefox is just installed. The video works on chrome but I don't like that browser.

More description and screenshot of the problem is needed here for comparision and what link is the video. Also what addons are installed?

You have not stated what solutions you have tried so far.
Do you have a N or KN edition of Windows 7?
if so then you may be missing the Media Feature Pack for Windows 7 N. It provides the codecs needed to fully support the HTML5 players like the one used at Youtube and many other sites instead of using Flash Player Plugin.
A place to test is at https://www.youtube.com/html5/ as all checks should ideally be blue.

Windows for markets like US and Canada comes with this installed.
Chrome can work in this case because they kind of cheat by coming with its own codecs.
